Welcome to The Printers Rest

We are very happy to be open again, in another wonderful building. The ‘Old Groat Building’, opposite Caithness General Hospital has had a varied life, from printing presses to retail. We are pleased to have it take on another lease of life; as a restaurant, take-away, photography studio and glass studio.

Those of you who were regulars at the Whaligoe Steps Café and Restaurant will be familiar with some of the items in this menu, there were some favourites that we just had to keep on.
There are also some great new additions; our fresh pasta, fried chicken & churros are all items that we have offered as specials in the past, but we are sure you will love as regular menu items.

We use excellent ingredients, with local provenance wherever possible, and believe that delicious food is a joy and privilege in our lives.
Our fantastic new space offers you a view into our open kitchen while you order your food, and if you’d like to eat-in (BYO alcohol), we have some tables too.
We are very proud of having achieved award winning status over the last few years at Whaligoe Steps Café, and in our new kitchen we continue to maintain our high standards, and love of Mediterranean inspired food
